Why Aztec were selected:

  •  Experience of delivering Unique, Quality Driven Installs
  •  Working back to back with Client to achieve the exact High End Media Installation
  • The project required Trust, Integrity and Credibility which, the client had in AZTEC in abundance

Description of Project:

AZTEC were invited to deliver a cost plus contract in order to achieve the required specification and the correct level of detail for a Sensory Space. The project consisted of converting the basement of a Victorian Villa into a specification driven, design led media room. The project required underpinning the main house walls by traditional methods prior to reducing the main space down to formation. The difficulty lay in excavating below a perched water table which required constant controlled pumping. Following the main slab pour the house walls were prepared and received the Hey-di K11 structural tanking system to provide a fully protected tanked envelope. This system is able to withstand hydrostatic water pressure with ease. With a specification of this level it was paramount that water ingress did not occur and lead to mould, decay, structural problems and other damp-related issues combined with cutting edge audio equipment. AZTEC renewed the drainage system under and above ground to accommodate a new entertainment point/bar area. The drainage works included the installation of a deep manhole to connect to the main sewer.  The internal works involved Dry lining all basement walls presenting a monolithic finish, new MF Ceiling including the concealment of the feature lighting within the media room. Colour pallet decorative works throughout along with Premium Stone Amtico Flooring. The commitment to a lifelong passion combined with our quality of workmanship is truly reflected from each angle of this project.

Added Value on the project:

  • Effective Collaboration with Design Team to achieve desired finish
  • Positive communication between design, delivery and client.
  • High Specification materials used throughout.
  • Creating the opportunity for client to double operational capacity.

Environmental issues:

  • The project was ran strictly in-line with our Environmental Management System
  • Reported Recycling to 95%, as part of a strict Site Waste Management Plan

The quality of the finish is exceptional, I have been waiting many years to do something  like this with the basement, the precision and the care of their craftsmen really speaks volumes. The pictures of the area from before to now …. are just unbelievable, I’ve already invited the team at AZTEC back to develop other areas of our property. It’s great that I have found a team I can trust to work with me on future projects.
